 Shawn
and Amanda Orr purchased A bar K Rodeo Productions from Al
and Karyn Foster in January 2011. A bar K Rodeo Productions produced
their first rodeo 18 years ago, making Al and Karyn Foster’s company
the oldest and most successful rodeo company in Ontario. Since
purchasing A bar K Rodeo, Amanda and Shawn Orr have been busy
producing rodeos for the most successful rodeo tour in Ontario.
As the new Owner and General Manager of A bar K Rodeo Productions,
Amanda and Shawn have really pushed the company forward. “We have
some momentum and we are very excited”. We both have a long history
in rodeo and our goal is to raise the bar where our sport is
concerned in this part of the world.
Amanda’s roping ability has won her in excess of 12 breakaway roping
titles. Shawn was a professional bareback rider who rodeoed across
North America and retired in 1999. Also a professional stuntman
since 1989, Shawn has worked with some of the biggest stars in
Hollywood including Tom Cruise, Russell Crowe and Hugh Jackman. With
Shawn’s broad knowledge of rodeo and his ability to create,
coordinate and perform incredible stunts, A bar K fans and
committees can look forward to a ton of excitement this coming rodeo
season.
In 2011, the number of A bar K promotional and rodeo dates increased
from 7 events in 2010 to over 15 dates and the forecast is for over
20 in 2012. With several major corporations supporting A bar K
Rodeo, we are confident that we will continue to hold the top spot
as rodeo producers in Ontario for years to come.

Our tour begins in Kingsville ON (the southern tip of the province) on the long weekend in May. Winding it’s way across southern and central Ontario the tour concludes at Powassan Fall Fair and Rodeo (20 minutes south of North Bay) on the Labour Day Long Weekend, where the Tour Champions are crowned.
